Scratches on Your Wooden Floor
If you have hardwood floors in your home, you will probably lose your breath when you observe someone sliding something across the floor. While most hardwood floors aren’t easy to scratch, just the thought of an unsightly gash in your floor is enough to make you scared.
This is why most homeowners with hardwood floor will make sure that their furniture is padded underneath their legs to minimize the risk of a scratch, but what should you do if it still happens?
It is possible to repair it. Depending on the depth of the scratch, you can start out with a 180 grit sandpaper or steel wool on the scratch. It is important to rub it along the grain of the wood.
After sanding down the area around the scratch and cleaning off any sawdust left behind, you can fill it in with wood filler and then top it off with polyurethane that matches the surrounding floor.
